Preventing a Lone Worker Incident
A regional commercial client had a site manager attending alarm activations at 2:00 AM. This posed a significant safety risk.
ESP took over Key Holding duties. When the next alarm triggered, our mobile unit attended instead of the staff member.
The alarm was a false trigger caused by a sensor fault. Our officer reset the system. The client's staff slept through the night.

How do you store keys?
Keys are stored in a secure, calibrated safe in accordance with BS 7984. They are coded anonymously without identifying address tags, preventing misuse even if intercepted.
Who responds to the alarm?
A fully uniformed, SIA-licensed mobile response officer. "You stay home. We attend." Every officer holds a valid SIA licence and is specifically trained in conflict management.
What if it's a false alarm?
We investigate thoroughly, reset the alarm, lock the building, and send you a detailed incident report. You do not need to be disturbed during the night.
How much is the annual fee?
The holding fee is £1.50 per day (£547.50/year). Call-outs are charged at £75 per visit, meaning you only pay for the emergency response you actually use.
Are you insured?

What happens if there is a fire or flood?
If environmental alarms trigger, our Key Holding service ensures we provide rapid site access for emergency services. We manage the site safely while the issue is resolved.
How does key holding support vacant property security?
Holding the keys allows us to perform routine vacant property checks to deter squatters and fulfill insurance requirements, while also granting safe access to authorized contractors.
Does your service help with commercial insurance compliance?
Yes, utilizing professional key holding to BS 7984 standards and ensuring SIA-licensed response satisfies stringent insurance audits and corporate compliance regulations.
Are all your response officers SIA licensed?
Absolutely. Every officer attending your site holds a valid SIA licence and undergoes rigorous vetting, ensuring compliance with the Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS).
Can you grant access to contractors out of hours?
Yes. If you have scheduled maintenance out of hours, our mobile patrol can unlock the premises, verify contractor credentials, supervise if necessary, and securely lock up afterwards.
Do you supply warning signage for our perimeter?
Yes, as part of the service, we provide high-visibility deterrent boards indicating the site is protected by our rapid response unit, deterring opportunistic crime.
How quickly do you respond to an alarm?
We deploy our nearest mobile unit immediately upon notification from the ARC, aiming to reach any West Midlands site well within industry standard response times.
What if the building cannot be secured after a break-in?
Our emergency cover ensures we arrange professional boarding up of broken windows or doors, or we will leave a static guard on site until the premises are fully secure.
How are our keys protected against unauthorized copying?
Keys are strictly controlled, audited upon every movement, and only handled by authorized personnel. They never leave the BS 7984 safe unless deployed for an active response or scheduled unlock.
Is there a limit to how many call-outs we can have?
No, there is no limit. Call-outs are simply billed individually per incident, providing a transparent and scalable solution for your security needs.
